Privacy
This page explains what happens to your email address if you sign up on this site, and to your details if you send an advertising inquiry.
What we collect
Only the email address you enter in the signup form, the date you signed up, the page you signed up on and which form you used (for example “checklist” for the free First Import from China checklist). We don’t store your IP address, and we don’t use cookies or trackers for the signup. You don’t need an account to read the articles.
If you reached this site through a link with campaign tags (for example from an ad), we also store with your signup which campaign it was: the link’s source, medium and campaign name, and whether it came from a Google ad (yes/no, not the ad click ID). Your browser keeps this only in session storage for the open tab, it is deleted when you close the tab, and it is sent to us only if you sign up. It helps us see which campaigns bring readers.
What it’s used for
Only to send you one email when the Import Business Guide community opens. Nothing else. The free checklist you get when you sign up is a direct download on the page; we don’t email it to you. We don’t sell or share your email, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who holds the data
Your email is stored in a database in the EU (Cloudflare D1) on Cloudflare, which hosts this site. It is not passed to any newsletter service or other third party. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for how Cloudflare handles data.
Legal basis
Your consent, given when you sign up. You can withdraw it at any time.
How to be removed
You can ask for your email to be removed at any time, before or after the community-opening email. Just reply to that email and ask, and we’ll delete your address from the list.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data. Reply to the email and we’ll handle it.
Advertising inquiries
If you send the form on the Advertise with us page, we store what you type in it (company, contact name, email, website, what you offer and your message) and the date. We use it only to reply to your inquiry and to discuss advertising with you. It is stored in the same Cloudflare database in the EU, is not shared with anyone else, and we delete it when you ask us to, or when it is no longer needed. Legal basis: your request to be contacted.
